    This 16 millions pixels exposure was obtained feeding the light of the Mercury, Cadmium, Neon and Xenon arc lamp to the first MUSE integral field spectrograph. One can see the bright emission lines of these four elements superimposed on the 48 slices of the image slicer. A total of nearly 3750 independent spectra is produced in this single exposure, only 4% of the total number of spectra which will be obtained when MUSE will be completed with its 24 modules ! This image demonstrate the superb image quality of this first module. (R. Bacon)
